What is edgeX?

edgeX is a DEX specialized in derivatives that adopted an order book and launched its mainnet in August 2024.

Like major overseas CEXs (centralized exchanges), it features a simple interface and functionality. Even those who are not familiar with DEXs can proceed with trading through simple account registration and deposits and withdrawals.

How to create an edgeX account

Creating an account is necessary to use edgeX. First, access the official edgeX website through the link below, register your email address, and proceed to download the test app.

How to deposit cryptocurrency

In edgeX, you need to proceed with deposits for both derivatives and spot trading. Please note that it does not support fund transfers between the two.

For the test app, derivatives only support USDT deposits via Arbitrum. There are no deposit fees or gas costs, but please note that the minimum deposit amount is 10 USDT.

First, from the menu, tap “Assets,” then “Futures Assets,” and select “Deposit.” The Arbitrum deposit address will then be displayed, so copy it and proceed to send USDT from an exchange or similar.

Earn points with deposits of 100 USDT or more!

If your deposit amount in edgeX is 100 USDT or more, you have a chance to earn points. If you are aiming for future airdrops, be sure to deposit more than 100 USDT.

The general procedure for spot trading is similar to that of derivatives. From the menu, tap “Asset,” then “Spot Assets,” and select “Deposit.” Then, use the displayed deposit address to send cryptocurrency.

How to trade derivatives

In derivative trading, 25 currency pairs are available, supporting trades with leverage of up to 100 times.

The margin mode setting only supports cross margin, but as explained above, using sub-accounts allows for pseudo-segregated margin trading.

From the menu, tap “Futures” and select the currency pair you want to trade

Complete various order settings from the order screen

① You can choose from main and sub trading accounts

② Margin mode supports only cross margin

③ Set the leverage for leveraged trading

④ Supports five types of order methods including Market

⑤ Set the order quantity in trading currency or USDT

⑥ Set TP/SL take profit and stop loss lines

After setting the order, tap “Long” → tap “Confirm” to complete the order

How to close a position?

When you want to close a position, tap “Positions” at the bottom of the trading screen, then tap “Close All.” After that, tap “Confirm” on the confirmation screen.

How to trade spots

As of writing, spot trading supports the Solana chain. You can trade nearly 100 cryptocurrencies, including popular meme coins like Trump Coin (TRUMP) and Melania Coin (MELANIA).

In the future, trading of cryptocurrencies deployed on chains such as Ethereum, Base, and Sui is expected to be supported. Here, we will introduce how to trade spots using the currently supported SOL.

Tap “Spot” from the menu, set the trading currency and quantity, then tap “Swap.” When the confirmation screen appears, tap “Confirm” to complete the trade.

When the purchase completion screen appears, tap “OK.” You can check the purchased cryptocurrency by tapping “Assets” from the menu and then “Spot Assets.”

1）Log in with MPC wallet (email address)

Enter your email address and click the “Submit” button

(For mobile, download the app and enter the registered email address in the app)

Once you enter the verification code received, registration and login will be complete.

2）Log in with a decentralized wallet

Select the type of wallet you will use and confirm the approval to complete registration and login.

How to deposit

After logging in, click the “Deposit” button in the upper right corner

When the deposit popup opens, select the chain you want to deposit (futures support BNB and ARB chains)

How to participate in the Vault

What tasks are required to earn interest-bearing amounts in the Vault?

1）Earn through trading on EdgeX

Users can earn 10 U of interest-bearing amounts for every 50,000 U of trading volume generated on the platform.

2）Invite friends to trade on EdgeX and earn

For every 300,000 U of trading volume generated by the invited team on the platform, you can earn 10 U of interest-bearing amounts.

3）Earn by depositing into the EdgeX platform

When you deposit into the EdgeX platform, you can earn 25% of the deposit amount as interest-bearing amounts in the Vault (Note: The maximum amount that can be earned through this method is 50,000 U. Additionally, if the user withdraws funds from the platform, the interest-bearing amounts in the Vault will decrease).

How to check the earned interest-bearing amounts in the Vault?

On the Earn page, switch to “Vault Rewards” to check the already earned interest-bearing amounts and the used amounts on the right side. By clicking the button below, you can immediately move to the Vault page and perform deposit operations.

How to check the earnings from the Vault?

1）Check total earnings

You can check the total earnings earned through the Vault on the total earnings graph on the left side. You can switch the display period with the button in the upper right corner (7 days/30 days).

2）Check daily earnings

By clicking “Daily Earnings,” you can check the daily earnings earned from the Vault.

How to use the earned interest-bearing amounts in the Vault?

Open the Vault homepage and click the “Deposit” button to deposit into the Vault.

How to withdraw cryptocurrency

Withdrawing cryptocurrency also requires proceeding with procedures for both derivatives and spot trading.

For the test app, derivatives only support USDT withdrawals via Arbitrum. There is no minimum withdrawal amount, but please note that a withdrawal fee of 1 USDT is required.

To withdraw, tap “Assets” from the menu, then “Futures Assets,” and select “Withdraw.” Enter the withdrawal amount and withdrawal address from the details screen, then tap “Confirm Withdrawal” to complete.

The general flow is similar for spots as well. Tap “Asset” from the menu, select “Spot Assets,” and choose “Withdraw.” Set the withdrawal quantity and destination, then tap “Confirm.”

How to check the invitation link

After creating an account on edgeX, you can invite friends to edgeX using the invitation link.

When the invited person starts trading, the inviter can earn up to 30% in commission rewards. However, the reward rate is tiered, and it fluctuates based on the number of invites and the trading volume of the invited persons over the past 30 days.

A point program with airdrop potential is currently underway

edgeX started its own point program in November 2024.

This program aims to reward users who contribute to edgeX’s products and ecosystem. Users can earn a certain amount of points based on the following metrics.

What are the criteria for point allocation?

• Trading volume in derivative trading
• Trading volume of invited users in derivative trading
• Outstanding derivative trading position volume
• Frequency of platform feature usage

Additionally, the referrer earns 1 point for every 4 points earned by the referred user as a bonus. Furthermore, new users receive 3 points for depositing over 100 USDT and achieving a trading volume of over $10,000.

The use of points has not been explicitly stated by the official source, but there is a strong possibility of airdrop of a native token. Given that edgeX has relatively few users, there is growing anticipation on social media for the potential of high-value airdrops similar to Hyperliquid.
