Dmail Network to Cease Operations by May 2026

Dmail Network to Cease Operations Following Five Years of Service 1

Key Takeaways

  • Dmail Network will officially terminate its decentralized email services on May 15, 2026.

  • High infrastructure costs for storage and bandwidth impacted the Dmail budget over 5 years.

  • Users must export data to platforms like Gmail before the May 2026 deadline to avoid loss.

Infrastructure Costs and Market Shifts Force Closure

Dmail Network has announced that the platform will gradually cease all operations due to unsustainable infrastructure costs and a failed economic model. The decision follows a long period of strategic evaluation after the team struggled to maintain the high expenditures associated with decentralized bandwidth, storage, and computing.

The organization noted that the project failed to achieve a sustainable business loop despite experimenting with multiple commercialization paths and paid models. Leadership cited a lack of large-scale usage for the native token and a significant cooling of the cryptocurrency market as primary reasons for the collapse. The remaining team stated that multiple rounds of financing and potential acquisition attempts ultimately fell through.

Users are instructed to log into the Dmail decentralized application to utilize the newly launched mail export tool and account cancellation features. All data, including email content, Non-Fungible Token ( NFT) domains, and points, will be permanently deleted once all nodes stop running on the mid-May deadline.

“This is the outcome we least wanted to see, but it is also the most responsible choice for our users, the community, and the remaining team.”
